Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Operations Manager, dependent on current and evolving Practice workload and staffing levels:
Welcoming patients to the Practice using customer service skills in a caring, friendly and compassionate manner.

Opening up / locking up of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols.

Maintaining and monitoring the Practice appointments system.

Processing face to face and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, and ensuring callers are navigated to the appropriate healthcare professional.

Taking messages and passing on information.

Computer data entry / data allocation and collation: processing and recording information in accordance with Practice procedures.

Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members and associated healthcare agencies and providers.

Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines (if trained as a Prescription Clerk).

Clearing and restocking consulting rooms.

Providing clerical assistance to Practice staff as required.

Facilitating the smooth collection of clinical waste by helping the driver enter rooms and collect the necessary bags and sharps bins with minimum delay.

Keeping the reception area, notice boards and leaflet dispensers tidy.

Displaying and promoting new health campaigns when necessary.

Providing refreshments for staff and visitors as required, and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy.

Registering of new patients in accordance with Practice guidelines.

Involvement in data quality work as and when required, in line with Practice guidelines.

Advising patients of the relevant charges for private services, accepting all types of payments and issuing receipts where necessary.

Dealing with online bookings through different online patient services.

Delivering assistance to clinical staff when needed e.g. chaperoning (after relevant training).

Dealing with first hand verbal complaints from patients, and if a resolution is not found, directing them to the Complaints Manager.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 37.5 per week

**Salary**: From £12.35 per hour
