**Assistant Special Investigator Division: Claims Solutions UK and Ireland**

**Department: Davies Special Investigations**

**Location: Mix of Home Working and maintaining a presence at a local Davies office**

**Hours of Employment**:37.5 hours per week

**Job purpose**:
To assist with the Management of a portfolio of investigation cases from various instructing Principals (covering Domestic and Commercial Property, Motor, Casualty and Niche Products)

Working in partnership with the instructing client the Junior with assist the Special investigator with thorough and focused enquiries, report upon the outcome of the investigation and be involved on making informed and evidence-based recommendations on policy action. Where required the Junior Assistant investigator will also deal with witness statements and collating of evidence,

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Undertake and assist in a range of investigations in an ethical & professional manner, employing best practice & key investigative competencies, which comprise:

- Technical Knowledge
- Investigative Planning & Preparation
- Interviewing & Statement Taking
- Evidence Identification, Gathering, Analysis & Presentation
- Reporting & Correspondence Proficiency
- Investigate and validate claims within the agreed structured process of DSI, working in tandem, where appropriate with the appointed Davies adjuster. Ensure hand-off and hand-backs between DSI and other parts of Davies Group are conducted professionally, seamlessly and within a reasonable timeframe.
- Support & assist in the development of DSI staff (e.g. Assistant Investigators, Conversation Management Handlers)
- Adhere to client specific service standards and ensure investigations are conducted within the Company’s guidelines, procedures & protocols.
- Establish and maintain contacts with other external investigative bodies and agencies, as approved by DSI management.
- Generate optimal revenue for the company by ensuring true & accurate time recording and strict adherence to fee rates.
- Be accountable for achieving Key Performance Indicators, as determined by DSI management.
- To ensure own technical and professional development progress is in accordance with agreed Personal Development Plans (PDP).
- Promote & maintain the profile of DSI within the Company and throughout the market place generally.
- Perform any other appropriate duties, as & when reasonably requested by DSI Management.

All Staff are expected to carry out any reasonable instruction given by their senior manager, in line with business requirements

**Skills & Experience**

This position would suit someone with Motor/property/commercial claims handling experience. Previous investigative experience would be an advantage but not essential. A keen interest in detecting fraud and an inquisitive mindset required.

- Ability to take a neutral judgment
- Clean driving licence #INDHP
- Flexibility around extended hours at busy periods
- Flexible and committed to a career as well as willingness to pursue professional study
