- UKCEH is looking for an experienced Project Support Officer to join our 600-strong team, contributing to scientific discovery and generating the data, insights and solutions that researchers, businesses and governments need to solve complex environmental challenges.

You will be a key point of contact for projects sitting within our Catchment to Coast group, whose research monitors the countryside to predict and measure the impact of climate and land use change on our environment.

You will support the Environment and Rural affairs Monitoring and Modelling Programme

). The programme is one of the highest income projects in UKCEH’s science portfolio, encompassing three main components:

- annual national field survey of Wales- integrated land-use modelling platform- a series of rapid evidence provision

You’ll also be supporting

Countryside Survey

, the longest integrated national monitoring programme of the countryside for Great Britain, which began in 1978.

We need your administrative expertise, excellent communication skills and organisational ability to manage a broad range of duties to multiple project stakeholders.

Your main responsibilities will include:
- Organising meetings, events and workshops. Schedule, source and book venues, facilities and catering. Booking associated travel, accommodation, and other meeting requirements. Note taking and dissemination of minutes and tracking actions- Support finance activities such as procurement, receipting, monitoring project spend including expense claims, and invoices, budget revisions, running pre-defined finance reports- Supporting communication with a variety of stakeholders and project partners. Assisting with collation of articles for newsletters, updating websites, coordinating outreach activities, and responding to requests for information- Maintaining project records including sensitive data. Implement required IT security and GDPR training, and maintain training records- Production of reports for a variety of stakeholders. Proof reading, layout and formatting of reports and presentations to high standards- Coordination of Welsh language translations- Participate in the field ‘buddy’ safety support system, following established procedures to maintain contact with lone workers- Provide administrative cover for ERAMMP Field Manager

For the role of Project Support Officer, we’re looking for somebody who has:
- The ability to engage confidently with a variety of stakeholders- Experience in handling confidential information/working to specific data security guidelines- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365, together with good numeracy skills- Ability to adapt to using new software systems and to effectively train others where necessary- Flexibility to take on different tasks from a variety of projects and people, and keen to develop new skills- Ability to work with autonomy, showing initiative to manage own time and priorities effectively. As well as being able to work well in a team, with a collaborative and inclusive approach- Experience in writing minutes- Experience of maintaining websites- Ability to travel occasionally, with nights away, and work outside of standard office hours when required- A full, UK driving licence - please confirm in your CV

Desirable Skills:
- A foundation-level professional certification in PRINCE2/PRINCE2 Agile, APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) or equivalent- Ability to use spoken and written Welsh
