**Job summary**:
The Land Warfare Centre (LWC) is a complex organisation employing circa 1000 civilian and 500 military personnel, plus numerous contractors, in multiple locations both in the UK and overseas. The Headquarters in Warminster is supported by six operating groups that manage and run the Army schools and colleges through which over 1200 different courses are planned, designed, resourced, delivered and evaluated every year, which deliver trained personnel with a wide range of skills from the ability to undertake their first posting to readiness for deployment.

The SO2 Medical Training role offers the opportunity to join the CSS (Combat Service Support) Trade Training Team based within Headquarters LWC. The CSS Policy Team’s function is to aid their customer’s requirements for Trade Training and to ensure relevant policy is compliant with current legislation.

The job holder will act as the medical training requirements authority to ensure delivery of CSS Med training requirements are being delivered by the Army’s medical training schools to the required standard. They will also support the optimisation of in-service Med Trg by determining the annual trained output requirement and auditing of in-service training while advising on new medical training cse requirements.

There will also be the opportunity to deputise for SO1 CSS.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
The SO2 Medical Training is a full-time appointment that plays a pivotal role in the running of the CSS Trade Training Team supporting the SO1 Combat Service Support (CSS). They are a single entity with a high level of autonomy that are responsible for the development and implementation of LWC Medical Training Policy to deliver medical training requirements to the Field Army.

The role requires the individual to act as the medical training requirements authority working closely with the medical requirement setting team to ensure that current and future medical training is being delivered by the Army’s medical training schools to the required standard.

They will oversee the in year management of the medical training courses for Army Officers, Soldiers & Civilian staff and be involved in the review and audits of in-service training while advising on new medical training cse requirements.

**Person specification**:
An SO2 Medical Training would be required to undertake the following:

- Act as the training requirements authority for in-service medical training.
- Develop & advise on medical training requirements assuring against extant policy.
- Oversee the in year management of the medical training cses for Army Officers, Soldiers & Civilian staff.
- Attendance at quarterly training review boards and working groups to audit and advise on inservice and future medical training requirements.

- Effective writing and verbal communication skills (this includes possessing developed IT skills).
- The ability to work collaboratively with others, both internal and external to the team and maintain working relationships.
