**About the role**:
This role is office based in Shipley, although we are currently working on a flexible rota which also includes some days working from home. There may be occasional travel required for training and development purposes.

As a Referral Centre Advocate, you will be:
Working within the Bradford & Calderdale Victim Support team, supporting victims of all types of crime.

Contacting victims of crime by telephone, carrying out needs and risk assessments following agreed processes and timescales. Facilitating the delivery of identified needs by referral on to another appropriate service on behalf of the victim using agreed processes or by directing referrals to an appropriate colleague to allocate to a Victim Support Caseworker or Volunteer.

Managing victims immediate service needs where necessary

Recording all contacts with victims of crime securely and accurately on the VS Case Management System, and in accordance with procedures for monitoring and evaluation purposes.

Carrying out any other duties as and when required by the Team Leader or Operations Manager

You will need:

- Experience of delivering a service in a statutory, voluntary, community or private social care setting
- To be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, including telephone skills
- To be able to deal sensitively with challenging and emotionally charged situations, demonstrate empathy and control your own emotions
- To be computer literate with good typing skills
