A prestigious university based in Bloomsbury, Central London is seeking a Degree Apprenticeships Manager to support within the Academic Services - Student and Registry Services department for an initial 6 month period.
**Role**: Degree Apprenticeships Manager
**Pay Rate**: £23-£30 per hour PAYE
Remote/Office split and closely following Govt guidelines
**Job Purpose:**
The role will sit within the central Academic Policy and Quality Assurance team, reporting to the Head of Academic Policy and Quality Assurance, managing Degree Apprenticeship policy, quality assurance and compliance processes in particular and providing expertiseto the university in these areas. The post holder will also support other areas of the Academic Policy and Quality Assurance team’s work as required.
**Job Responsibilities:**:

- Acting as the main adviser at the university for internal and external stakeholders in all matters relating to Degree Apprenticeships
- Developing and managing the university regulations, policies and strategy relating to Degree Apprenticeships in line with the latest national requirements
- Co-ordinating all Degree Apprenticeship compliance functions across the university and undertaking a number of central quality assurance and compliance activities
- Supporting the other areas of the team’s work, as required

**Policy Development and Governance**:

- To develop and maintain the Degree Apprenticeship Toolkit, and other policies and regulations relating to Degree Apprenticeships, in line with national regulatory and legislative requirements.
- To review existing regulation, policy and guidance to ensure its applicability to Degree Apprenticeship provision, degree apprentices and employers, in liaision with the respective policy owners.
- To lead on operational risk management in relation to Degree Apprenticeships provision, in liaison with the Planning Team.
- To act as the Secretary to the Degree Apprenticeship Steering Group.

**Compliance and Relationship Management**:

- To manage and monitor compliance with institutional and national regulatory requirements in relation to degree apprenticeships, including drafting of agreements and commitment statements on templates and facilitating their negotiation and signing, liaisingwith Legal Services as appropriate.
- To manage the account on the ESFA Provider Portal to ensure that all apprenticeship information is up to date and viewable on the government’s Find an Apprenticeship service.
- To facilitate any external or internal audits, reviews or inspections on Degree Apprenticeships, including those undertaken by the ESFA and Ofsted.
- To be the main contact for NHS degree apprenticeships
- To keep abreast of national and sector developments relating to the regulation of degree apprenticeships, attending external briefings and events, such as the Russell Group Degree Apprenticeship Network, where relevant.

**Building and Coordinating Institutional Capability**:

- To co-ordinate and support the other central functions contributing to Degree Apprenticeship management (statutory data returns, financial reporting and admissions in particular).
- To develop and deliver a plan for building the knowledge of the staff in the effective design, delivery and management of Degree Apprenticeship provision.
- To work with the Innovation and Enterprise as well as the academic Departments to manage the relationships with employers as appopriate.
- To work with Communications & Marketing to manage communications regarding Degree Apprenticeships with colleagues across the institution and externally as appropriate.

**Specialist Advice**:

- To provide expert advice to academic Departments and other colleagues on the national and institutional context for developing and delivering Degree Apprenticeships, including supporting new Degree Apprenticeship proposals and advising on costings.
- To act as the main point of contact for external and internal degree apprenticeship enquiries, liaising with colleagues in other academic and professional services departments such as UCL Innovation and Enterprise, Student Data Services, Finance and BusinessAffairs, Communications & Marketing, and Organisational Development where relevant.

A qualification or experience commensurate with education to degree level or equivalent skills obtained in the workplace

Experience in working and managing collaboratively across organizational boundaries to deliver complex projects or services

Expert knowledge of the regulatory and quality assurance requirements relating to Degree Apprenticeships in the UK, including Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework, the ESFA’s Funding Rules, financial structures, and reporting and data return requirements-Essential
Demonstrable ability to provide advice and guidance to colleagues on complex regulatory and policy matters
