**About PCA**:
Pancreatic Cancer Action (PCA) was founded in 2010 by a rare survivor of the disease. We are a small, creative and passionate team committed to improving early diagnosis and saving lives. In August 2020, Pancreatic Cancer Action merged with Pancreatic Cancer Scotland making our team stronger than ever.

Pancreatic cancer has only a 7% survival rate and this figure has not improved significantly for over 50 years. Despite it being the 5th biggest cancer killer in the UK, pancreatic cancer receives only 3% of overall research funding.

With a strong focus on early diagnosis, it is PCA’s aim to improve survival rates through raising awareness, medical education, improved patient information and by funding research specifically into the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Simply put, we want more people diagnosed in time for surgery, currently the only potential for a cure.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Support Pancreatic Cancer Action to effectively build, develop and maintain our relationships with healthcare professionals to promote our educational tools across Scotland.
- Support development and implementation of a plan for engaging with various healthcare professionals such as GPs, pharmacists, pancreatic specialist nurses, oncologists, radiologists and surgeons in partnership with the wider team.
- Support the delivery of our GP Advisory committee for Scotland and help in the development of other related committees.
- Identify the educational needs of the healthcare professional community relation to the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer through interviews, focus groups and surveys
- Work closely with colleagues in Marketing & Communications to develop and implement a marketing and communications plan to engage new healthcare professionals and promote resources through nation specific communications.
- Develop processes to effectively monitor the impact of our health care focused resources including a reporting process.
- Attend meetings, conferences, and events on behalf of Pancreatic Cancer Action.
- Engage and influence healthcare professionals, including nurses, clinicians, GP’s and other key NHS stakeholders to help raise the profile of Pancreatic Cancer Action and build our reputation as a trusted partner.
- In partnership with the team and develop new pieces of work such as new e-learning modules and education projects for the general public.
- Recruitment of peer review volunteers to support the patient information forum accreditation process.
- Ensure that our website contains relevant and up-to-date information about the charity’s healthcare engagement work and draft articles and updates about key activities for our publications.
- Working collaboratively and proactively with other teams across the organization to ensure that the work of the wider organisation is relevant to stakeholders and people affected by pancreatic cancer.
