The Activities Coordinator is part of the Care Team and as such works with other staff to care for the social needs of the clients in the Care Home.* The main aim is to improve the intellectual, physical and overall health of the residents at Ashgill* Organise and co-ordinate activities for active daily living for residents at Ashgill Care Home* Organise an activities programme that will maintain interest and progression over a period of time, and enhance the quality of life for each resident within the home with an emphasis on those residents less able* Identify the needs of the collective group and individuals and tailor the activities to suit them* Encourage involvement from the local community to attend your activities* Work with the Care Team (both Care Assistants and Nurses) liaise with other staff, volunteers and families to provide therapeutic activities
- Some events may require you to work flexible working hours which will include evenings and weekends.* To plan and organise external outings with appropriate transport* Document activities in resident files* Plan and organise ‘special days’ e.g. birthdays, Christmas, Easter, St Andrews Day etc* Update social media accountsAshgill is a family owned Care Home and has always encouraged individuals to fulfill their potential. We have the latest E-Learning system and will support you with any specific training areas you wish to specialise in. We offer various bonus and training schemes to maximise your potential and enhance the care for our residents *
**Previous care home experience essential. SVQ3 Social Services & Healthcare qualification preferred.**
**30 hours per week, Monday - Friday (some evenings and weekends may be required to accommodate special events)**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £10.90 per hour
