Working 37.5 hours a week as part of the Social Work Team, you will contribute to the development of care at the Hospital; including providing safeguarding advice and support to staff including immediate safety planning and making safeguarding referrals.Youwill provide a supporting role to other Social Workers and investigators with ongoing and active safeguarding enquiries as directed.

You will monitor, identify and address themes, trends and social concerns through risk assessments, care plans and investigations to support the service user to continue to make viable plans for their future.

**Yourresponsibilities will include**:

- Participate, Contribute to Regional Safeguarding meetings, morning meetings and any professional or complex meetings
- Assist, support multi-disciplinary team on safeguarding matters
- Oversea, assist, support, guide adult safeguarding
- Take a proactive approach to support the ward staff within the hospital with monitoring any safeguarding concerns amongst the patient group, always ensuring the safety of patients.
- Actively engage within the Clinical Governance of the hospital, attending meetings, providing feedback to others, and working towards the agreed goals and objectives of the hospital
- To develop and maintain links with between different agencies within a patient’s local community, for example Care Coordinators, MAPPA, families/carers, and future possible placements
- Attend MDT reviews for patients as clinically required.
- To develop skills and support undertaking investigations as directed by the Hospital Director/Lead Nurse.
- Making sure safeguarding policies and procedures are fully implemented and followed by staff, students and volunteers
- Take lead on safeguard KPI, Audits, Reports.

**To be successful in this role, you'll need**:

- A good understanding of the principles of safeguarding and the relevant legislation
- Experience in a senior care position
- 3 + years’ experience in a care setting
- Level 3 or above safeguarding adults and children
- A willingness to complete Level 4 Safeguarding Training
- Experience or willingness to engage in developing skills in the role of the investigator
- A desire or motivation to build working relationships and strategy with family and carers by promoting engagement and involvement from them
