**About the role**:
This Senior Research Fellow role will be responsible for depositing compound semiconductor material using MBE. The following is indicative of the duties and responsibilities associated with this post:

- Lead on the development and growth of III-V based and Si-based optoelectronic devices, including, quantum dot (QD) lasers, SOA, modulator etc.
- Lead on the commissioning and operation of new III-V MBE reactor.
- Lead on the operating and maintaining MBE facility regularly.
- Regularly communicate and work in close collaboration with the post supervisor and national and international collaborators.
- Publish research in leading journals and present it at national and international conferences.

The post is available from 1st January 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter until 31st October 2025. Further funding to support the post may be available.

**About you**:
Strong experience on the heteroepitaxial growth of QD lasers is desirable, as well as a strong track-record on the research outcome of III-V on Si optoelectronic devices. Demonstrating the capability to develop an independent research profile within the period of the grant will be advantageous for applicants.
