We are looking for a self-motivated Service Improvement Officer with some knowledge or experience of project management or business analysis and is passionate about putting customers at the heart of service design ensuring value for money.

**This is a secondment/fixed-term contract opportunity for 12 months.**

**About us**:
Following the unitarisation of the former County and District Councils in 2020, the Council is delivering an ambitious programme of change and transformation helping ensure that services deliver better outcomes for residents and the organisation operates more efficiently.

The Service improvement team is at the heart of this. You will be working as part of a friendly team with the core purpose of supporting services through their improvement journeys. Joining the team offers an opportunity for you to develop your improvement skills in a fast-paced and stimulating environment helping to shape how public services operate in Buckinghamshire. If this sounds like the type of environment you would thrive in we would love to hear from you

**About the role**:
As a Service Improvement Officer you will be responsible for:

- Managing and supporting a range of projects, processes and workstreams to ensure delivery of outcomes and outputs
- Planning and leading workshops with service areas
- Managing stakeholders across a variety of levels including staff and senior managers encouraging collaboration
- Producing clear written reports, diagrams and other required documentation explaining analysis and changes, and presenting complex findings in a clear and concise manner
- Championing and facilitating user centred design

Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements*.

**About you**:
We are looking for ambitious and motivated individuals who are confident in designing and facilitating workshops and producing credible and insightful analysis, whilst also having the ability to lead projects and drive assurance through clear project documentation.

It is imperative that you have effective communication and influencing skills to build trusted relationships with service area staff and management, and work collaboratively with business functions across the Council.

You will need to be flexible, resilient, and comfortable operating in uncertain and ambiguous contexts. Most of all, you will need to care about the customer and their needs and be motivated to achieve the best value public services for Buckinghamshire. If this sounds like you, please get in touch.

**Other information**:
For further information on this role please see the attached job summary.

Currently, members of the team are expected to work flexibly, usually two days in the office and three at home in line with corporate arrangements.

Interviews will be arranged as soon as possible following the advert closing date.

This post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare:

- Unspent convictions and/or unspent conditional cautions only
