**Skills and Experience**

Minimum 1-2 years experience of working in a busy office environment.

Excellent communication skills with an ability to liaise effectively with drivers, customers, work colleagues and members of the public is a requirement. A very professional and friendly telephone manner is essential to the role. Good geographical knowledge of the UK would also be beneficial.

Outstanding customer service skills

A very good level of attention to detail is required.

The applicant will need to have very good organisational skills to keep on top of a variety of essential time specific tasks.

Willing to assist other team members with their work when needed so must be a good team player.

You must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite/Google Docs /Outlook.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Assist the Senior Transport Planner with day to day operations.

Liaising with the drivers throughout the day and monitoring their progress to ensure they complete required work in the required timescales to meet our customer needs.

Booking deliveries with customers.

Communicating effectively with customers to keep them informed of the progress of their deliveries.

Assist drivers with some issues they may encounter while carrying out their daily deliveries.

Answering any incoming phone calls and dealing with them in the appropriate way.

Creating new job sheets and sending drivers new jobs on in house computer systems.

Carry out any other tasks required to keep the transport office and vehicles/drivers running efficiently.

Learning other roles within the business to assist in the future.

**Hours of Work**

Monday - Friday: 8am-5pm.

Holiday - 25 days A/L plus bank holidays (including 3 A/L days to be taken over the Christmas shutdown period).

Pay: £28,000.00 per year
