London, United Kingdom Location Collective Full time

**Studio Assistant** - OMA Studio Group**

Company: Location Collective

Working Hours: Full-Time

Location: London and Home Counties

**Start Date: January 2024**

**Salary: Competitive**

**The Company**

Location Collective is London’s leading provider of space to the film and TV industry.

The company started life as an agency, representing all types of property for both ‘front-of-camera’ and ‘behind-the-camera’ film production use on behalf of our owner clients; from lived-in homes, to operational and institutional buildings, to vacant offices and industrial development sites. The Agency Business continues to thrive, with an ever expanding portfolio of filming locations and production space available to hire.

As we have grown, both in scale and experience, we have acquired our own sites, responding to the needs of the film and TV industry by sourcing, refurbishing and managing our own film studios and ancillary production space.

Our owned Studio Business has grown quickly, acquiring former distribution depots in and around London and converting them into high specification film studios. Our first site, OMA One Film Studios, launched in the summer of 2020, introducing 119,000 sqft of production space to the film and TV industry including four sound stages totalling 88,000 sqft, workshops and offices. OMA X Film Studios followed just a year later, adding a further 213,000 sqft of production space including six sound stages totalling 155,000 sqft. Both of these sites are currently fully occupied by a major global streaming company. The OMA Studio Group Campus also currently includes OMA Store and OMA House. We are currently in the process of refurbishing our third film studio, OMA V, for launch early next year.

**The Role**

We are looking for a Studio Assistant who will play a pivotal role in helping to run our OMA Studio Group sites, working alongside our Studio Management, Operations and Facilities teams to continue delivering excellent, film friendly service at our world class film and TV facilities.

**The Role in Detail**

This role will cover a broad spectrum of duties across the OMA Studio Group. These will include:
Working under the guidance of our Studio Managers to
- Ensure any hiring production adheres to the terms of our Studio Hire Agreement and Studio Operating Manual (with the support of the Studio Management Team)
- Undertake regular site walk-arounds to monitor and record any damages
- Help to oversee studio condition including approval of fixings and coverings
- Help to oversee appropriate weight-loading in consultation with relevant experts
- Help oversee cleanlinessand reinstatement
- Be a friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable point of contact for hiring productions on site
- Report any feedback given by productions to the Studio Management team, helping keep our ear to the ground so we can continuously improve

Working with our Facilities Team to
- Report any problems with utilities, internet, cleaning, grounds maintenance etc (everything we are accountable for under the terms of our leases and Studio Hire Agreements) to ensure the smooth running of our sites
- Liaise with security personnel
- Keep track of our utility use on site
- Manage regular condition checks across the OMA Studio Group
- Support our Health and Safety policy, including acting as a fire warden across our sites

Working with our Operations Team to
- Support back-of-house and administrative functions across the OMA Studio Group including, but not limited to, invoicing, purchase orders and legal agreements

**Required Skills & Qualifications**

Studio Management Experience
- Experience of working at studio facilities on the scale of the OMA Studio Group in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
- Able to work with and without supervision.
- Able to confidently make recommendations and, if necessary, make decisions relating to sites when faced with requests from a busy, working production team.

Strong Problem-Solving Skill
- Able to work quickly and effectively as part of a team to solve issues collaboratively as they arise in a high paced environment. Comfortable with taking the lead from time to time, using previous experience and examples from working with our team to make decisions independently.

Ability to Work Well with Others
- Able to work effectively across a team of individuals with potentially competing interests, working closely with security personnel, production teams, and the Studio Management team to ensure everything on site works smoothly and as harmoniously as possible.

Strong Organisational Abilities
- Extremely organised and able to keep on top of all requests from the Studio Management Team, hiring productions, all aspects of the Studio Operating Manual and anything else that might arise from time to time.
- Able to operate independently to ensure that everything possible is done to keep the facilities functioning effectively, with some (off site) supervision.
