Lead Service Coordinator, Respite Rooms

**Position**:
The Respite Rooms provide safe, single-gender accommodation for women as a short term intervention, the focus will be on safety, recognising the importance of safeguarding homeless women with care and support needs, the service offers the beginning of a journey to recovery, through providing space and the time to work with specialists to understand support needs and work towards overcoming barriers, through accessing local services
The Lead Service Coordinator will lead a dedicated team of Support Workers who are responsible for servicing customers in Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole. The Team provide Trauma Informed support which ensures the safety and wellbeing of the customers and work within a PIE (psychologically informed environments) framework.
**This role will give you the opportunity to**:
- Assist in recruitment and management of a team
- Deputise for the Senior Practitioner / Service Manager at meetings
- Lead group practice reviews
- Support internal quality audits
- Deputise for Senior Practitioner in risk/safeguarding reviews
- Support Senior Practitioner with service developments
- Ensure customers are engaged with the delivery of a comprehensive, holistic needs assessment and support plan; progress monitoring and reviewing.
- Learn and utilise Trauma Informed Care and PIE.

**Requirements**:
- Understanding of the causes of homelessness and social exclusion and approaches which seek to address this
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to undertake Needs Assessment and Planning for people with complex social needs
- Understanding of Benefits and the Universal Credit system
- Previous work with homeless and/or other socially excluded people
- Working as part of a team in a social or health care setting
- Experience of supervising / managing staff and/or volunteers
- Working with people with complex needs and challenging behaviour
- Personal experience of homelessness or social exclusion
- Previous work experience with people with mental health issues
- Empathy and understanding of the needs of Clients.
