London, United Kingdom Richmond and Wandsworth Councils Full time

About Us
We are looking for a dedicated, pro-active and passionate individual to be a part of the important work of the Serious Violence Team within Community Safety at Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. If you are looking to champion local voices, deliver projects, work with new and dynamic legislation, and strengthen the response to serious violence, then this could be the role for you.

We are looking for someone who understand the importance of the Serious Violence Duty and wider project work in the tackling of serious violence in Richmond and Wandsworth.

This is a** **fixed term post until 31 March 2025 funded through the MOPAC Violence Reduction Unit.

**About the Serious Violence Officer**:
The role will work across the Richmond and Wandsworth services and provide insight and knowledge on issues of serious violence. The post-holder will focus on contextual interventions to ensure spaces and places in the borough remain safe for all residents, particularly those areas which are disproportionately affected by violent crime.

The post-holder will also manage the Violence Reduction Unit’s London Crime Prevention Fund (VRU LCPF) projects in Richmond and Wandsworth. The project work is key to a comprehensive response to serious violence in the borough. It will also be expected that the post-holder will manage and track finances within the serious violence work stream.

The Serious Violence Officer’s work will be supported by the Serious Violence Manager.

This is a full-time role for 36 hours per week for the rest of the fixed term duration. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across two locations (Wandsworth Town Hall and Richmond Civic Centre) as well as having working from home arrangements.

**Agile working**

At Richmond and Wandsworth Councils, we care more about how you work and what you achieve, rather than where you work on any given day. The difference you can make to our local communities is what really matters most to us, service delivery must always come first. We have carefully considered agile ways of working to provide the best experience for residents, stakeholders and our staff. Our agile working strategy actively supports and encourages a dynamic work environment and daily working experience. Agile working helps put the needs of our staff at the centre of everything we do, so if specific flexible working arrangements helps you with this, feel free to let us know.

Your wellbeing and the flexible way in which you can work is and will remain a key priority for Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. We want you to thrive and feel empowered in your work

**Benefits**

We also offer a generous holiday allowance of 39 paid days (pro rata) including bank holidays and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.

In addition, we offer a comprehensive range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts with many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments.

**Indicative Recruitment Timeline**
- Closing Date: Monday 11th March 2024
- Shortlisting Date: Wednesday 13th March 2024
- Interview Date: Thursday 21st March 2024

**Useful Information**:
