**Interim Violence & Vulnerabilities Coordinator**

**Pay rate £22.80 per hour PAYE** Coordinate the activity of various partners and interventions to ensure that services are delivered effectively and communities protected from violence and vulnerabilities. Support the Community Safety Manager with the Safer Brent Partnership (SBP) Priorities to reduce violence and vulnerability priorities, relating specially to Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG) as well as Gang, serious violence, Knife issues and related crimes, also other relevant priorities of the partnership which may emerge Key responsibilities:

- Working with the key stakeholders, namely: Police, Voluntary sector services, Probation (NPS, CRCs), Health Economy, Children’s and Adult Social Care, Housing etc. to ensure the ongoing growth and development of Brent’s’ VAWG, criminal exploitation and Gang related priorities.
- Coordinating and developing partnership working internally and externally to the council, ensuring that the V&V agendas compliment each other and other areas of work including mainstream activities: IOM, troubled families, MASH, YOT, MAPPA, Organised Crime Group and Foreign National Offender approaches amongst others.
- Working with the key stakeholders and community leaders to continually monitor and assess local need and assess gaps in V&V provision.
- Liaising with Criminal Justice partners (Police, Courts, and Prisons) to ensure that robust and holistic action is taken to reduce offending relating to V&V related crimes, including VAWG and Gang crimes and increase conviction rates for offenders.
- Liaising with key stakeholders to ensure that robust and holistic interventions are in place to reduce victimisation relating to all V&V related crimes, including VAWG, Serious Youth Violence and Gang and Knife crimes and increase victim support.
- Supporting the delivery of the statutory obligations of the Safer Brent Partnership (CSP) and to help ensure the requirements in relation to Section 17 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 are embedded in the Council and are prioritised across the partnership.
- Ensuring regular on-going communication and feedback to key stakeholders and communities

- Educated to equivalent of degree level or other relevant professional qualification
- Working knowledge of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and other relevant legislation
- Good working knowledge of current issues in criminal justice related to the VAWG agenda, including domestic abuse and other harmful practises (including knowledge of the MARAC)
- Good understanding of multi-agency work, crime, crime reduction and the issues surrounding community safety, Domestic Abuse, Violence against Women and Girls, Sexual Abuse (violence and vulnerability) and partnership working
- Experience of the VAWG (specifically domestic abuse) agenda and the roles and responsibilities of various agencies involved within it
- Experience of commissioning and performance monitoring for effective contract management
- Development and delivery experience of a violence and vulnerability strategy or similar strategies supporting those at risk and work programmes
- Excellent organisational skills
- Proven ability to work on your own initiative and particularly use your initiative in resolving issues whilst keeping management fully informed and seeking guidance as needed
