You will be responsible for providing a PA service to a speciality team, to include daily supervision and positive leadership of the administrative team, ensuring that high standards are maintained in terms of quality and output and that an excellent patient experience is provided at all times. To use own initiative, and work without immediate supervision.
- Communicate with patients, colleagues, internal and external on a daily basis
- Prioritise own work efficiently and effectively
- Daily supervision of administration team, including carrying out yearly appraisals and regular 1:1 meetings
- Type all forms of clinical correspondence as dictated by medical staff, by use of audio or copy typing.

- Be a main point of contact for the specialty, having full knowledge of specialty processes, or know where to resource help or to find answers
- Supervise and lead a specialty administration team on a daily basis to achieve high quality, efficient and effective outputs in line with Trust standards. Carry out regular 1:1 meetings with staff under mentorship/supervision, recording progress and agreed action plans
- Organise cover for periods of absence and assist in the emergency cover of specific work (i.e. urgent letters/reports) if required to ensure turnaround times and standards are maintained, referring to Secretarial Manager as appropriate
