Our client is a prestigious school seeking an experienced HR Advisor/Manager to work in a busy team supporting a workforce of 350 staff. You will need to be CIPD Level 5 or above qualified for this role.

The role:

- Working with the Director of HR and Compliance to ensure the effective delivery of HR Services to the whole school.
- First point of contact for all HR matters, providing advice and guidance in accordance with statute and policies.
- Taking a lead on absence management and undertaking absence reviews and progressing these to a conclusion, in accordance with The Absence Management Policy.
- Providing initial guidance and advice to Managers and Heads of Department and assisting with employee relations matters to include organisational change and poor performance.
- Supporting the Director of HR and Compliance to ensure administration and compliance of all training across the school and using the school's agreed LMS.
- Assists the Director of HR and Compliance in the management of the school workforce plan, employee lifecycle, recruitment, and onboarding activities to meet the needs of the whole school.
- Undertaking pre-employment checks for all staff/workers and ensuring files and checks are updated in accordance with the GDPR and SCR requirements.
- Liaison with the Payroll Manager to ensure the accurate administration of payroll records.
- Maintenance of the HRIS, LMS and ATS to ensure good practice and housekeeping measures are in place in accordance with GDPR requirements.
- Using the HRIS and ATS to access, input, compile and analyse data as required and identify trends and recommend solutions. Such examples include absence and profile of the workforce.
- Oversees the management and development of the Apprenticeship programme and training offer across the whole school. Working with external providers to utilise the levy funding for the benefit of all the workforce.
- Managing staff relationships, responding to queries or problems that may arise and managing their expectations.
- Work alongside the Director of HR and Compliance to assist on whole school projects as required.
- Monitoring, reviewing, drafting, and updating all HR policies and processes ensuring that these are in line with current legislation and make recommendations for change to reflect good practice.

**The person**:

- Proven work experience as an HR Advisor
- Proven experience of working with HR technology to include ATS, LMS and HRIS
- Ability to advise and work with senior members of the school and develop strong interpersonal relationships
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail with a commitment to complete a task
- Pragmatic and logical with a solution focused approach
- Pro-active with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and an "I can do" approach
- A good team player and ability to lead, where appropriate
- Demonstrates, a calm, confident and patient approach
- Displays determination and resilience
- Displays a natural curiosity in the HR agenda and is committed to ongoing CPD to ensure current knowledge
