As a Barclays UX Design Researcher, you will join the Wealth Insights & Design team helping our customers and clients understand their money and empower them with the right tools. The team is comprised of researchers, designers, and developers from multiple disciplines all focused on making money work for our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to work creatively and collaboratively, assisting with planning and running research projects to help with the creation of useful and innovative experiences and communications for our customers.

**What will you be doing?**
- Delivering high quality research projects that are truly on a par with the best external research agencies, supporting the Senior and Principal Research Practitioners
- Managing your own workload to help team members across multiple projects and taking ownership of delivering your own end to end research projects
- You will, with support from senior practitioners, taking research briefs, writing proposals, planning, and running research activities, conducting analysis, writing and presenting reports
- Providing input into the design of research programmes which are synergistic with other research and analytics activities including Design/UX, Colleague and quantitative research
- Contributing to joining the dots between projects and teams to share research and build efficiency and knowledge
- Working within a strict budget, maintaining cost controls, and demonstrating excellent value for money and keeping abreast of latest thinking, tools, and methodologies
- Looking at new ways to innovate research methodologies and communicate findings, and balancing the required rigor with fast paced product development
- Building an understanding of how consumers and businesses interact with financial products and services, helping to highlight needs and behaviours

**What we’re looking for**:

- Proven track record assisting on aspects of a range of research projects or running small scale research projects, under supervision, with a portfolio of projects
- Experience of working with a range of research methods, such as lab studies, expert evaluations, participatory design sessions, rapid prototyping, ethnographic research methods
- Excellent organisation skills and project management skills, with excellent interactive listening and communication skills to engage with customers, peers and stakeholders
- Experience creating clear methods to communicate insights to a wide range of stakeholders, contributing to ways to build a knowledge base to extract maximum value from all research

**Skills that will help you in the role**:

- Experience working with designers, developers, stakeholders, or clients
- Experience contributing towards timelines/priority lists
- Awareness of designing UX/UI and/or Product Owner background
- Keen interest in one or more of the following areas: ethnography, semiotics, behavioural science, neuroscience

**Where will you be working?**
In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
