**Job Summary**

As a Senior Sales Manager at The Sheraton Grand London Park Lane, you are the local, on-property sales contact for all clients, responsible for proactively account managing and soliciting new corporate and group related opportunities working in conjunction with the National Sales / GSO Team, as well as hunting the local market in Mayfair.

The Senior Sales Manager will actively up sell to each business opportunity to maximize revenue and works to achieve personal and team related revenue goals and a strong drive of customer face to face appointments.

The Customer account base for this role will include establishing and developing existing and new corporate volume producing accounts, as well as a strong focus on local catering & MICE business.

Finally, the role entails acting as a sales deputy for the Director of Sales & Marketing (in their absence) as well as actively suggesting / initiating departmental process improvements in line with overall Hotel business continuity & revenue generation.

**Education or Certification**

**Experience**
- 2 - 4 years proactive sales experience within a premium sales organization, preferably within the MICE and social segment.

**Skills and Knowledge**
- Negotiates services of hotel and executes Group, Catering & Transient Sales Agreement for each business opportunity.
- Support and lead the sales process for Special Events identifying potential opportunities and managing the Special Events Team to maximize the conversion of these enquiries.
- Five Star Leadership and representation of The Sheraton Grand Park Lane at all corporate levels.
- Interacts and sells to high level, meeting, incentive, corporate and event planners as well as key Marriott preferred agenecies.
- Identify key market intelligence and implement to positively influence hotel sales strategy - including MICE and Social Sales trends.
- Influences decision makers at all levels.
- Leads and communicates Group RFP’s through online tools (Cvent, VenueFINDER, Venue Directory) and act as a resource for the Sales Team in this respect of best practice and positioning.
- Participates in local and some international travel to represent hotel at trade shows, sales missions, conferences etc.
- Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels (e.g. London Sales Office, London Market Sales and National Sales Team) to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative.
- Proactively identifies, qualifies and solicits new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.
- Understands the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.
- Closes the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs.
- Uses negotiating skills and senior sales abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
- Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new clients to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, site inspections etc.
- Utilizes Marriott Global Source for resources and information (Training Energizers, segment websites, etc.).
- Effectively manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Effectively use sales resources and administrative/support staff & plays an active role in the Hotel Sales Strategy Team.
- Previous proactive sales experience in the 5 star/luxury lifestyle market.

Balanced Scorecard Results: Implements strategies and executes activities to drive financial results, guest satisfaction and market share.
- **Sales and Marketing**: Focuses on building the Hotel’s top line revenue by executing against the sales strategy. Identifies and aggressively solicits new accounts and business. Grows accounts managed within portfolio to exceed pre-defined individual Hotel goals and contributes to team goals.
- **Guest Satisfaction**:Ensures sales information provided to the Hotel is accurate, complete and timely and enables Hotel to meet or exceed guest expectations. Continuously focuses on improving guest satisfaction to create customer loyalty and increase market share.
