**The Role**
The main focus of this post is to provide high-quality, cost-effective training to both an internal and external audience. The role also will involve delivering a suite of short courses to a diverse range of delegates across the northeast of England. Reporting to the Operations Director, the role involves developing, managing and delivering training courses
to employees, volunteers and customers.

**Principle Accountabilities**

1.To provide advice, support and delivery of training on relevant operational training programmes, as required

2.To take an active role in ensuring customer feedback and evaluation evidence is used to continuously improve course content and training provision

3.To deliver MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme), Inductions, Manual Handling, Health & Safety, Safe Van Driver and Vehicle Emergency Evacuation Training courses delivered in sustainable volumes and in accordance with national and local procedures

4.To manage the systems for invoicing, payment and credit control for all external training carried out. Working closely with the Finance Team, you will ensure that debtors are kept to an absolute minimum.

5.Ensure the training database is kept up to date and that information is used to develop refresher training bookings as well as actively seek new customers.

6. Working closely with both Passenger and Furniture Operations Managers, you will ensure skills matrices on each site are maintained and updated; delivering the necessary training

7.To conduct driver training and periodic assessment in line with Community Transport’s compliance procedures and insurance requirements

8. To assist in the development of marketing and publicity materials, including attendance at conferences and publicity events as required in order to promote Community Transport and its training provision

9. To undertake any personal development, maintain any qualifications and attend any training activity in order to maintain professional competence and successfully carry out the role

10. To help write materials and updates for the website

11. To help develop new training courses and learning activities that contribute towards Community Transport’s aims and objectives

12. To demonstrate responsibility and leadership for promoting and championing all aspects of equal opportunities; valuing and managing diversity in all areas of one’s work.

13. To be responsible for ensuring and achieving the objectives of Community Transport’s Health and Safety policy

14. To undertake any other duties, as required, appropriate to the grade of the post. This will sometimes include passenger driving duties as necessary

**Special Conditions**
The post holder must hold a full driving licence with a maximum of 3 penalty points.

This role will involve regular travel across the northeast. It is also likely that the role will occasionally require the post holder to deliver training in other areas of the UK.
The post-holder will also be required to both manage and market the Charity’s training provision as well as take the lead role in the development of work-placement training and mentor support.

**Essential Skills / Training;**
Holds a full UK driving licence and the licence holder has 3 penalty points or less on his or her licence.

A good standard of English and Maths at GCSE level

Have IT skills equivalent to a minimum Level 2 standard

Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both at a written and spoken level.

Communicate effectively with members of the public and other professionals - particularly trainers and stakeholders

An ability to manage conflicting priorities and one’s own time in meeting deadlines with a minimum of supervision

Demonstrate a commitment to Continuous Professional Development

Motivated to work towards creating a team culture that is supportive and mutually beneficial

Being prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business

**Desirable Skills / Training;**
Category D1 held

NVQ Assessor Qualification in the vocational area (driving)

CIPD Certificate in Training Practice, Level 3 qualification or equivalent

ADI Registered Driving Instructor (Level 1, 2, 3)

Understanding of the training cycle, including training analysis, planning,
development and evaluation

Experience of delivering classroom-based training to mixed groups, using a different range of methods and modern technologies

Experience of dealing with complex relationships: managing learners, trainers and other stakeholders’ expectations

Experience of working in the education/training sector

Experience of marketing training courses

Awareness of Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection issues and the boundaries of professional relationship
