Reed Wellbeing deliver on Integrated Health Contracts (including interventions for adult and familyweight management, healthy eating, physical activity, alcohol reduction, smoking cessation, falls prevention, maternal health, health checks and wellbeing support), NHS Diabetes Prevention, NHS Low Calorie Diet Programmes. Clinical support is also providedto Reed Employability contracts with health and wellbeing provision.
**The role**
This role is varied and demanding and centres around ensuring that Reed Wellbeing services, products and staff abilities are maintained to the very highest clinical quality and that adequate clinical and operational guidance is available to support the provisionof clinical excellence.
**This role is remote and is national. Based at home and there will be occasional travel required.**
**Key accountabilities**
The information below describes the key responsibilities. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list and as such there will be expectation to perform any other duties that may be specified by the Head of Clinical Excellence from time to time. This job descriptionis non-contractual.
Clinical Governance
- Be responsible for further development of the Clinical Governance improvement programme.
- Lead, participate or contribute as appropriate to Clinical Governance meetings, Clinical Quality, and general Quality meetings.
- Clinical Effectiveness and Clinical Audit
- Develop, implement, and maintain a Clinical Quality Management System (CQMS).
- Work and consult with central functions i.e., continuous improvement and internal audit and compliance, to schedule, conduct and/or train others on Clinical Audit to examine delivery of clinically sound and effective services.

This will involve
- File sampling
- Observations
- Data monitoring and review.
- Develop and maintain robust clinical policy and procedures to ensure that clinical effectiveness is clearly defined and prioritised for example Infection Prevention Control, Medicines Management, Medical Device Handling and Maintenance, Mental Capacityand Caldicott.
- As directed by the Head of Clinical Excellence lead on the production of Clinical Quality Reporting providing specific Clinical Quality Reports or providing Clinical input into Operationally Led Reporting.
- Lead Clinical Excellence input to review of Evaluation of Service (EOS) and participant surveys identifying opportunities for improvement and where appropriate supporting implementation of actions.
- Ensure development and maintenance of the process and systems to distribute clinical guidelines and updates in clinical practice including rapid guidance i.e., NICE guidance. - Support the Head of Clinical Excellence and all Reed Wellbeing teams in meetinghealth/clinical legal responsibilities and alignment with local and national regulation i.e., CQC key questions and quality statements.

Clinical Risk Management
- As directed by the Head of Clinical Excellence develop Clinical Risk Assessment and Management in line with the Clinical Governance Framework and adhering to Risk Management policies and procedures.
- Using a root cause analysis approach work with the Health Improvement Leads and operational colleagues to proactively manage and resolve incidents and adverse events where there are health or clinical impacts.
- Provide clinical guidance and support, risk assessment, risk communication and risk management on clinically high risk programmes, products and modules throughout their lifecycle i.e., Health Checks.
- Conduct triangulation of a range of information to identify clinically significant trends and emerging themes, investigating with support from colleagues across Reed Wellbeing and where appropriate external to Reed Wellbeing.

Learning and Development
- Lead on teaching, coaching, and providing support to staff across Reed Wellbeing and where appropriate Reed In Partnership on; Clinical Governance, Clinical Audit, Clinical Risk, Clinical & Health Incident Management, Clinical Quality Assurance.
- Lead on the implementation of the Clinical and Professional Supervision (CaPS) policy and maintain CaPS records.

**Skills & experience**
Essential Attainments:

- Degree level qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience within the area of health care.
- Qualifications and experience in reviewing and improving health care utilising clinical effectiveness methods and/or clinical audit.
- Evidence of continuing clinical and professional development.

Desirable Attainments:

- Clinically focused quality qualifications and experience.
- Root cause analysis training.
- Experience of clinical risk assessment and associated processes.

Essential Criteria:

- Knowledge of healthcare services including, but not limited to preventative health care, behaviour change, health inequalities and the social and environmental determinants of health.
- Understanding of the principles of clinical effectiveness.
