Operational Lead

The Urgent Care Services provide short term health and care support to enable service users to remain in the community/home environment. This may include treating acutely unwell people that would otherwise require hospital admission. The service also supports hospital discharges.
The teams within urgent care work collaboratively in an integrated way to deliver a patient-focussed service which supports the national urgent care initiatives such as virtual wards and two-hour urgent community response.
- Support the Assistant Director, Head of service and Operational Manager in the strategic development ofservices and be instrumental in delivering the organisational objectives and values at an operational level
- Work closely with the people who use our services, families, friends and carers and play an important contribution in how people experience our services
- Have the ability to synthesise information in order to present proposals effectively to decision makers (including Directors and Senior Executives) in ways which facilitate their understanding and influence pathways
- Make recommendations to decision makers in order to drive forward innovative solutions to achieve business objectives, standardisation, service improvement strategies and financial efficiencies linked to prescribed care or identified projects
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with clinical staff, the leadership team and internal and external colleagues
- Support the Operational Manager with line management responsibilities of the service including appraisal, supervision, sickness absence management
- Lead the CQUIN programme at local level, embedding and sustaining the principles into clinical practice
- Have a key leadership role, acting as a role model for others
- Ensure that the team provides effective care planning which meets professional standards and is in collaboration with services users and carers
- Facilitate reflection on service delivery and identify areas of quality improvement
