**Job Title**: Waking Night Support Worker
- Residential Children's Home
**Location**: Luton, UK
**Role Overview**:
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the children during the night within a solo children's-home. You will be responsible for monitoring the home, providing emotional support, and addressing any needs that arise. This role requires vigilance, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact in the lives of young people.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide constant supervision and ensure the safety and security of all children throughout the night.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any incidents or emergencies.
- Support children with bedtime routines, including settling them to sleep and attending to any night time needs.
- Offer emotional support and reassurance to children who may experience distress or difficulty sleeping.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of the night’s events and any incidents.
- Ensure the home environment is clean, safe, and comfortable.
- Liaise with day staff to provide comprehensive handovers and updates on the children’s well-being.
- Adhere to all safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a residential or similar setting is preferred.
- A caring and empathetic nature, with the ability to build positive relationships with children.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Pay: £23,900.00-£27,730.00 per year
