**A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WEDDING COORINDATOR AT THE PRINCIPAL YORK**
- What you’ll be doing_

Reporting to the Cluster Reservations Manager you can expect your working day to include the following:

- Form part of the team responsible for wedding enquires and the main point of contact throughout the booking and planning process.
- You will ensure all details on weddings enquiries are recorded accurately and planned until the day of the wedding takes place.
- Meet with clients to run through details of forthcoming weddings, future requirements and to present the hotel facilities and services.
- Help to deliver unique memorable experiences for our couples and clients through collaboration and attention to detail.
- Create event sheets detailing all the client’s final details and requests before the event and attend function sheet meeting weekly.
- To liaise with the rest of the hotel team, ensuring all information is communicated effectively to the relevant departments.
- Meet and greet clients when they arrive for their event.
- To ensure all new enquires are dealt with promptly
- Ensure all contracts, deposits and event details are handled efficiently and within the deadlines given.
- Conducting professional hotel show rounds and follow up with accurate proposals
- To be fully conversant with facilities, services and promotions offered by the hotel, and where possible to pass this information on to the guest whenever the opportunity arises.
- Upsell and cross sell as frequently as possible to delivery revenue and a bespoke wedding day to meet out couple’s requirements.
- To ensure all opportunities to generate revenue for the hotel are maximised and there is a strong channel of communication between sales to ensure effective, efficient and wholly beneficial operations for both staff and guests alike
- Assist in achieving budgets and targets set for this segment and the overall budget of the hotel.
- To maintain a work environment which promotes positive attitude, pride and good morale.
- To be able to handle proactively, all guest feedback, positive and negative, and record correctly.

To succeed in the role of Wedding Coordinator you will need the following qualities and skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
- The ability to perform well under pressure
- The ability to multitask and prioritise your own workload
- Attention to detail to ensure that every aspect of an event is perfect
- Excellent communication skills both written, verbally and in person
- A high level of IT skills including outlook, word excel
- Experience of 1 year in the same or similar role in weddings and events is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided
