**Proactive Workforce Solutions** are currently looking for a Rehousing Officer to work with one of our clients based in Liverpool.

**Purpose Of The Job**:
To deliver a high quality customer focused comprehensive re-housing and homelessness service. To administer the private sector bond scheme and develop and maintain effective working relationships with private Landlords and managing agents to help homeless households secure and maintain accommodation in the private rented sector.

**General Responsibilities**:

- To deputise for the Team Leader as required.
- To work with people in housing need and those who are potentially homeless to identify and address their housing and support needs. To identify problems causing their potential homelessness and provide them with tailored advice and assistance to secure alternative settled accommodation and prevent their becoming homeless.
- To identify the support needs of service users and make appropriate referrals to other Council teams and external agencies.
- Help monitor trends in homelessness and ensure performance targets are met maintaining full and accurate records of all contact on the appropriate IT or manual systems.
- To ensure manual and computerised records are updated in an accurate and timely manner, and that data relevant to the future development of homelessness prevention and assessment services is written up and reported in an appropriate format.
- Assisting clients to access and signposting to other statutory, non statutory and voluntary agencies where relevant and ensure all providers, landlords and wider stakeholders are aware of the Bond Scheme.
- To participate with colleagues in any ‘out-of-hours’ rota and to deal with emergency situations occurring outside normal office hours.

**Specific Duties**:

- Assisting with the placement and rapid move on of single clients and homeless families into settled accommodation.
- Assisting with the transfer of clients out of temporary accommodation into vacant hostel accommodation.
- Inspect all private rented properties that are secured by homeless households through the Bond Scheme to ensure suitability and to obtain relevant certification to demonstrate that all the necessary health and safety checks have been undertaken by the landlord.
- To assist with arrangements around support for those clients who are found permanent accommodation where there is high risk of early tenancy breakdown
- Maintaining robust systems for collecting and disseminating all information about temporary accommodation usage and availability.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- The Refugee Housing Officers will carry out timely assessments to determine needs and support homeless refugees into permanent or temporary accommodation.

**You will be required to have**:

- Evidence of and commitment to continuous professional development
- Substantial experience of interviewing and negotiation skills including direct experience of working to prevent homelessness
- Experience in working with vulnerable client groups
- An informed knowledge of the range of issues affecting new and existing refugee service users in Liverpool.
- Knowledge of Landlord and Tenant, Immigration, Welfare Benefits and relevant Social Services legislation.
- Knowledge of the social and financial costs of homelessness to individuals, the local authority and other relevant bodies.
- Experience of utilising case management systems.
