Erewash Borough Council’s Community Health & Wellbeing Development team are looking for a highly motivated individual to drive the development and management of a range of projects aimed at increasing physical activity levels and improving health and wellbeing within Erewash. If you wish to join a multi-disciplined team that values a collective work ethic, innovative thinking, and excellent service delivery then this is the opportunity for you.

The main focus of the role includes the development and implementation of physical activity and health initiatives, securing external grant funding, community-based development, event management and supporting the wider community increase active recreational opportunities and community health development.

Ideally you will have a sound knowledge and experience of working with and engaging key partners including securing, managing, and reporting external grant funded projects as well as an understanding of health and safety legislation.

Experience and understanding of the effective supervision of staff, coaches and volunteers is desirable as you will have direct responsibility for staff within the team. As well as this you will work across the physical activity and health sector to ensure effective communication and promotion of services.

Hours of work will primarily include daytime working however due to service demands, on occasion may include evenings and weekends.

The Council is committed to supporting and developing their staff. A culture exists within Community Health & Wellbeing Development where continual professional advancement through training and learning will be supported and encouraged.

*This post is temporary for 12 months funded through external grant funding and, whilst further extensions to the post cannot be guaranteed by the council, the Community Health & Wellbeing Development team strives to continually secure external grant funding to ensure services remain operational.
