Senior Planning Officer

My client, a South East London Local Authority are seeking **Senior Planning Officer**, handling a range of work as set out in the attached job description. This role offers hybrid working with two days (currently Tuesday and Wednesday) in theoffice and most officers working from home the remaining three days a week.
They are undergoing huge transformation with unparalleled levels of investment, and a regeneration programme for the area more ambitious than any since the Victorian era. With major developments across the borough, award winning schemes, two Housing Zonesand the Bakerloo Line extension, the transformation is well underway.
The work they have is diverse, exciting and challenging and you will be working with a friendly team that is dedicated, positive and focussed on quality and high performance.
You will make a significant contribution to the regeneration of the borough through the innovative and practical development of proposals for planning permission to ensure that growth and regeneration in the borough is delivered in line with the DevelopmentPlan and achieves a high quality design and placemaking.
**Main Purpose of the job**:
- To provide professional advice and professional support on all Planning matters.
- To support the ongoing professional development of the junior career grade planners
- To manage and deliver an efficient enforcement function to the Planning Service, on behalf of the Planning Manager.

Town and Country Planning Acts
- Development Management procedures, Central Government Policy Guidance and associated Regulations.
- The London Plan and Local Development Plans
- Broader Council-wide Corporate and Planning issues
- Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)
- Delivery of Schemes
- Discharge of Conditions
- Preparation and use of Planning Performance Agreements (PPAs)
**Experience**
- Experience in dealing with sensitive issues of concern to elected Members and the public.
- Experience in the supervision of staff.
- Preparing and giving evidence at public inquiries.
- Presentation to Committee and/or other meetings.
General Education
- Town planning degree or recognised degree (e.g. Geography, Economics, Environmental Studies etc.).
- Membership of the RTPI or eligibility to be elected as a member.
**PAYE £32 - £35 per hour**
