As a senior member of the 1st Line Risk Team, you'll play a key role in driving a robust and resilient risk culture throughout AXA Health, deepening the capability of the business to understand and manage its risk, whilst maintaining a strong and pervasive focus on positive business and customer outcomes.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home at an AXA office.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Support the timely identification of risks and provide advice and guidance on their treatment, and management as part of the ERM framework.
- Drive clear understanding and management by Health Senior Management of operational and resilience risks arising from both business as usual and transformation activity in line with agreed risk appetite.
- Oversight and challenge of policy and procedures embedment, with focus on highest risk processes across in-scope Health teams.
- Drive, alongside the product, pricing, data, operational and support function leadership teams a commercially centric approach to managing operational risk and resilience that explicitly considers the ‘cost of control' relative to risk appetite.
- Coach and partner in-scope business areas to ensure Exec / Risk Owners can discharge their accountabilities.
- Design and delivery (and regular review) of targeted Key Risk Indictors, centered on the customer journeys and associated operations/ infrastructure.
- Maintain a clear understanding of info security/ data/ privacy requirements and the extent to which Health is fulfilling these in line with the risk appetite of the business.
- Provide key 1st line insights, with very clear articulation of the ‘so what' and recommendation on next steps, to both Health and UK-level governance forums, attending these as required.

**About you**:
**What we’re looking for**:

- Demonstrable expertise in Operational Risk, with a track record of championing good customer outcomes and pragmatic, commercially-minded operational solutions.
- Hands on experience of the key risks associated with a large-scale financial services firm/ Healthcare insurer.
- An up-to-date awareness of the UK regulator’s expectations of a Healthcare insurance provider, including expertise in working with regulated and non-regulated products.
- In-depth understanding of risk and control assessment and assurance techniques, including Key Risk Indicators, alongside statistical sampling and outcome-based testing.
- Ability to engage with staff at all levels of the organisation with challenge, empathy and pragmatism.
- Excellent ‘to the point’ report writing and communication skills with an attention to detail.
- A people centric management style, which drives engagement and ongoing capability building across all levels of the team and wider organisation, building a culture of positive energy, empowerment, creativity and teamwork.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in the United Kingdom.

**What we offer**:
