We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive individual to undertake an exciting new opportunity within the Lung Function and Sleep Department at Good Hope Hospital.

The qualification gives learners the opportunity to:

- Develop knowledge related to the healthcare science environment and the roles and responsibilities of those who work in this environment
- Develop skills related to the healthcare science environment
- Develop effective study skills, including the use of reflective practice
- Achieve a nationally-recognised Level 4 qualification
- Develop personal growth and engagement in learning

After successful completion of the Level 4 apprenticeship, there may be further opportunities for career development including the Level 6 (degree) apprenticeship.

Pay scale - Annexe 21 Band 4

Year 1 - 17,937

Year 2 - 19,317

Year 3 - 20,697

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
As an apprentice in the department you will undertake a Level 4 Diploma in Healthcare Science and develop the skills required to perform a wide range of high quality and safe lung function and sleep tests. You will spend 1 day a week with your educational provider whilst developing your practical skills within the work place and linking theory to practice. The ability to cope with the discipline of studying whilst working as part of a team throughout this busy department is essential.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship you will the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours to join the Academy for HCS's (AHCS) accredited register as Associate in Respiratory and Sleep Science at Level 4.
