Chemical Engineer
An opportunity has arisen to join a lithium chemical industry based in Basingstoke. As the Chemical Engineer, you will be responsible to act as a specialist engineering resource to support daily activities and contribute ideas to company management to drivethe industry forward. This is a full time, permanent position.
Responsibilities:

- Use scientific, mathematical, and engineering principles to solve problems
- Improve the company's chemical and engineering process and design of new processes
- Design, propose, implement, review and correct plans
- Overseeing construction of new plants including all relevant hazard assessments and HAZOP's
- Advise on testing programmes to obtain data, initiating and leading HAZOP's and maintain risk assessment records
- Liaise with mechanical fitters, contractors, projects engineers and other engineers regarding technical matters such as processing techniques, design and safety
- Conduct research, observe production processes, and discover ways to increase efficiency and quality
- Implement, troubleshoot, and review plans as projects progress
- Engage with suppliers and contractors regarding new and improved processes
- Maintain and improve all plant operating documentation

Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years' experience working in a relevant engineering role
- A Level grade B or above in Chemistry
- Chemical Engineering degree with a minimum level of 2:1
- Has an understanding and experience of HAZOP's
- Excellent understanding of Chemistry principles
- Excellent computer skills, especially using spreadsheets, word processors and ability to use of CAD
- Experience managing and leading a team in an industrial environment

Benefits:

- Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 17:00pm, and Friday 8:00am - 16:00pm
- 25 days holiday plus bank holiday

- Salary is £45,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience
