**About this role**:
YVC has enjoyed growth of 56% since 2020. As the size of our organisation has increased so have our ambitions to create a sector-leading governance structure. We think that now is the right moment for us to appoint an Executive Assistant to keep the work of our Board and CEO on track.
YVC has an innovative approach to governance. Underpinning everything we do is a belief that people with lived experience of services are best placed to design the solutions that meet their needs. This extends to our Board where we have a number of people who have used our services, including people with learning disabilities, as active members of the Board.
Your Voice Counts is based in the North East of England and you’ll be required to attend meetings at our offices in Gateshead, Newcastle and South Tyneside and there is also the opportunity for some working from home.
**Main Responsibilities**:
1. Ensure that YVC values are embedded to strengthen the organisational culture.
2. Manage the diversity, equality, and inclusion values and practices within the organisation.
3. Drive alignment between HR strategy and organisational practice. Develop and manage HR policy and procedures to drive performance and improve employee experience.
4. Support change management processes, including managing TUPE processes. Develop the organisational structure to support future growth, using best practice principles.
5. Manage all core HR areas, including, employment legislation compliance, employee relations such as disciplinaries, grievances and absence.
6. Ensuring our HR system is fit for purpose and enables the production of useful people metrics.
7. Lead on all aspects of employee lifecycle such as:
- Manage talent and succession planning.
- Work with managers to proactively identify staffing needs across the organisation and manage the creation of job descriptions and handbooks.
- Provide advice on recruitment and selection strategies and support the recruitment process.
- Ensure a good induction programme is in place.
- Support the implementation of an effective appraisal system which enables continuous employee development.
- Develop the reward strategy and monitor and develop employee engagement.
- Ensure a robust process is in place in respect of understanding why people leave our organisation to inform our retention activity.
This is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to undertake other duties commensurate with the duties of the post as may be reasonably directed and/or as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.
**Person Specification**:
Just as our values are key to our ways of working, attitude is key to our staff team. We work in challenging, changing circumstances with a very vulnerable client group so we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to develop team working and who is empathetic and supportive but not afraid to challenge when challenge is needed.
This role will suit someone who is passionate about creating a great working environment for our staff. We need someone who can take a strategic lead but also work operationally on specific HR issues. You will be an experienced and passionate HR professional who can evidence providing excellent HR advice and support strategically and operationally in areas with some complexity. You can demonstrate actively driving and managing change to meet your organisation’s needs. Ideally you will have Chartered CIPD membership.

- you will have good attention to detail and understand the importance of effective systems and processes and good governance
- have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with vulnerable people who often have significant communication barriers

- be able to work from and visit our different sites
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £38,588.00-£44,100.00 per year
