The Company
Cooper Golding is seeking an energetic and motivated Purchasing Assistant to support business operations in an expanding business. This is an opportunity to learn learn and become part of a purchasing team.
What is the Purpose of the Purchasing Assistant role?
As the Purchasing Assistant you will be an essential part of a small team, liaising with the sales team to process orders, working closely with the Purchasing Manager and assisting with the day to day running of the purchasing department.
What will the Purchasing Assistant do?
- Order processing (Sales & POs).
- Checking confirmations and invoices.
- Daily purchasing reports.
- Updating system information, e.g. ETAs, prices, supplier codes.
- Working closely with the sales team to provide product information.
- Chasing suppliers for information, e.g. confirmations, despatch / delivery dates.
- Liaising with shippers and keeping track of container orders.
- Ensuring goods are despatched from suppliers in a timely fashion and all necessary information is available for UK Customs Clearance.
- Running reports to communicate with other departments, e.g., scheduled deliveries.
- Price list - Liaising with suppliers, proof reading, populating spreadsheets.
- Liaising with customers to arrange the services of products
- Purchasing of all general office consumables
What skills and experience will the Purchasing Assistant have?
- Typing quotes / letters
- Spreadsheet data cleansing
- Tracking customer orders
- Invoicing
- Proof reading
- General customer service
- Ad hoc admin tasks (e.g. filing / scanning)
Must have
- Proven experience of Excel & Word
- Proven experience working in a team
- Maths and English GCSE grade C or above (ideally grade A/B)
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to learn
- Experience working in a busy office
- Integrity, honesty and intelligence
- 2/3 references
