Sensory Project Worker

**Role Summary**
The role is responsible for providing a range of support to individuals with sensory impairments. This role involves a combination of direct support, outreach, training, and community engagement to facilitate choice and support independent living.
**About the role**
You will be required to meet contractual and grant requirements by delivering information, advice, and support services in a one to one or group setting.
You will work closely with volunteers to enhance service delivery.
You will engage with service users on a formal and informal level to ensure they are involved in the coproduction of service delivery.
You will be required to work closely with your line manager to contribute towards developing plans, monitoring, evaluating, and producing regular reports.
You will be accountable for the use of charitable funding.
You will be an active member of the Improving Lives Plymouth team working closely with peers to develop cross project delivery to provide a wraparound service to our service users reducing the need for them share their story when moving between different teams within the organisation.
You will be required to assist with the implementation of identified accreditation standards.
You will be required to undertake any additional training relevant to the role to contribute towards your continued professional development.
You will carry out any other tasks which may be within the scope of the post to ensure the effective delivery and the needs of the service.

- Working within social care, education, voluntary or health and wellbeing sectors and the ability to achieve positive outcomes for individuals and vulnerable groups

**Provide Information, Advice, and Guidance**:
- Offer information, advice, and guidance to individuals with sensory impairments, including British Sign Language users.
**Assistive Technology Demonstration**:
- Demonstrate assistive technology, including I.T. equipment, to visitors at the Resource Centre and during home visits.
- Provide advice on the suitability of assistive technology for individual needs.
**Support NHS Hearing Aid Users**:
- Provide support to hearing aid users, including maintenance of hearing aids both in the Resource Centre and in the community.
- Organise and arrange hearing aid clinics as needed.
**Person-Centred Support**:
- Conduct home visits to individuals with sensory impairments.
- Design and coordinate the implementation of person-centred support plans to enhance self-confidence and promote independent living.
**Sensory Awareness Training**:
- Develop and deliver sensory awareness training sessions to various audiences, including medical students, the general public, professionals and colleagues.
**Community Engagement**:
- Represent Improving Lives Plymouth at workshops, exhibitions, presentations, and events to promote services within the community.
**Volunteer and Student Training**:
- Assist with the training and development of Sensory Solutions volunteers and visiting students.
**Record Keeping**:
- Maintain accurate records using a variety of client datab
