**Days: Monday - Friday**
**Location: Flexible working - 50/50 split between home-working, and 175 St John Street, Farringdon**

**Overall Purpose**

The Data and Insight Officer’s role is to assist the Research and Evaluation team in the collection and analysis of data on children’s mental health and academic outcomes and report on Place2Be’s impact. In a growing service, this involves supporting school-based colleagues in using our bespoke database, the management of data, production, the dissemination of key findings and reports, undertaking current and scoping future research and evaluation projects.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Day to day management of data collection systems to support school based staff in their function. This includes auditing, managing onboarding and exiting schools and user accounts.
- Using the internal IT support desk to manage and respond to support tickets and responding to helpline queries.
- Data cleaning to ensure data quality for use in analysis by the rest of the team and Place2Be’s adherence to GDPR. Data cleaning tasks include identifying and merging duplicates, checking client and school records for errors
- Reviewing and providing recommendations for data cleaning processes
- Supporting the Research and Evaluation team in the development and production of the reports and dashboards on Place2Be services using data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
- Developing strong working relationships with school-based staff and managers to improve quality and understanding of the data collected throughout the organisation.

- Degree in a relevant discipline
- Advanced experience of using excel
- Experience of Python and / or SQL and / or other Data Science programming languages
- Experience of using Data Visualisation software such as PowerBI
- Knowledge and experience of database management

**About Us**

Place2Be is the leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support and expert professional development to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people, families, teachers and school staff. The charity currently provides an embedded mental health service in 500 UK primary and secondary schools supporting a school community of around 243,000 children and young people.

Our teams provide a range of services in our partner schools to build resilience early in life through counselling, creative work and play and support a child’s ability to engage in school life. Our work, focused on early intervention, is part of the comprehensive CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) system.

Through our professional development programme, we are training around 1,200 Counsellors on Placement each year who build their mental health and counselling skills and experience through practice in our partner schools. We also provide a range of professional development programmes on mental health and wellbeing for school leaders, teachers and other professionals who work with children and young people, so we can help to build ‘mentally healthy’ schools and communities where all children can thrive and flourish.
