**Post **Multi - Agency Safeguarding Panel (MASP) Coordinator

**Location **County Hall, Preston Lancashire

**Accountable to **Director of the Lancashire Violence Reduction Network

**Other **Occasional evening and weekend work. Travel across

Lancashire and periodic national travel will be required.

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:
The post holder will work for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire and report to the Director of the Lancashire Violence Reduction Network.

The post holder will work with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner,

Lancashire Violence Reduction Network, Community Safety partners, and specified and relevant authorities for the Serious Violence Duty, across the County to assist them in coordinating their response to the Serious Violence Duty.

The main function of the post holder will be to establish local multi-agency panels that brings professionals together to meet regularly and focus on support for young people most at risk of being drawn into anti-social behaviour, crime and serious violence.

The post-holder will support the development of community engagement work within the primary/ secondary and alternative provision education sector as well as
Lancashire’s networks of Further Education colleges.

The focus will be around reducing young people’s entrance into criminal justice through involvement in violence. A specific focus will be on vulnerable young people and those geographic areas disproportionately affected by serious violence.

The role will also support the development, delivery and monitoring of Community

Safety Partnership plans and interventions to tackle serious violence across the county.

The need to create positive partnerships focussed on prevention and early intervention opportunities will necessitate the post holder to understand the drivers for violence and vulnerability in Lancashire and have a proven track record of creating and sustaining multi agency partnerships.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES**

1. Develop networks and support partnerships to drive the prevention and reduction in serious violence.

2. Work with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, Lancashire

Violence Reduction Network, Community Safety partners, specified and relevant authorities for the Serious Violence Duty, across the County to assist them in coordinating their response to the Serious Violence Duty

3. Establish consistent terms of references for Multi Agency Support Panels across Lancashire; this will include the co-ordination of such meetings and scheduling the demand in the relevant areas.

4. To support education partners in breaking down barriers to vulnerable young people accessing relevant early help and family support

5. Work with partner agencies to identify funding opportunities for localised prevention/reduction activities.

6. Support partners in the development, delivery and monitoring of partnership plans and interventions to tackle serious violence across the county

7. Proactively identify opportunities to promote the work and achievements of the partners in reducing serious violence, building public trust confidence, and enhancing the reputations of all partners.

8. Develop and maintain professional knowledge and understanding of serious violence agenda - and share that learning across local partners

9. Translate national, county, and local good practice across local partners.

10. The post holder will work in partnership with a range of partners and community organisations to build community capacity and support local project development, maximising a co-ordinated multiagency approach.

11. In conjunction with other partners, the postholder will map current community led activity, identifying any existing community champions and networks, and alongside partners will support community members to develop community-led violence reduction projects.

12. Organise, attend, and support the PCCs governance and oversight forum for the Serious Violence duty.

13. Represent the PCC at appropriate local, regional, and national meetings as required.

14. To undertake research and analysis of a broad range of quantitative and qualitative information, including legislation and policy in accordance with the responsibilities of the PCC.

15. To analyse and present performance information from internal and external sources in a clear and concise format for senior management and where appropriate make recommendations to assist decision making

16. To prepare and deliver briefings, presentations and reports to the PCC and the Senior Management Team, stakeholders and/or the public.

17. To assist in the preparation of statutory key documentation for the PCC including the Police and Crime Plan and Annual Report, government returns.
