**Job summary**:
We are looking for a pro-active, confident and driven individual with strong influencing and delivery skills. Project management experience is desirable, but not essential as you will need to be able to set out plans in a logical way and provide briefing to seniors on progress.

You will embrace a flexible and agile work environment that works seamlessly across team boundaries in partnership with both civil service colleagues and industry partners in the security sector to ensure the Joint Security and Resilience Centre (JSaRC) is able to deliver against all of its objectives.

**Job description**:
JSaRC supports and promotes the UK security sector, contributing to delivery of HMG security, growth and prosperity objectives.

This is a G7 post as one of the Programme Leads in JSaRC’s Delivery Team. Reporting directly to the Head of Delivery, the post holder will provide leadership for a number of projects which will support HSG’s security and prosperity objectives. This will involve direct line management of one SEO Project Manager and also providing leadership, advice, coaching and support to a number of industry secondees and civil servants managing the individual projects within your portfolio.

This is a unique opportunity to work within a team that work directly with the private security sector and understand how the relationship with HSG and wider Home Office is important to drive and maintain emerging security capabilities that help to keep the UK safe. You will also work closely with a range of security sector secondees who will bring a variety of skills sets to both short term and longer-term secondments that will provide core and project specific support.

**Person specification**:
We are looking for a pro-active, confident and experienced individual with strong communication and delivery skills. Project management experience is desirable, but not essential as you will need to be able to set out plans in a logical way and provide briefing to seniors on progress.

They will embrace a flexible and agile work environment that works seamlessly across team boundaries in partnership with both civil service and security sector colleagues to ensure JSaRC is able to deliver against all of its objectives.

**Essential Criteria**:

- A proven track record in delivery of specific outputs to support broader outcomes.
- Experience of leading teams, both within your own leadership chain of command and across other Organisations.
- Evidence of taking on a broad range of work and ability to manage several tasks at once.
- An interest in engaging and working with the security sector and to deliver national security outcomes.
- Evidence of finding and using the right teams and processes needed to get things done.
- Some awareness and knowledge of PPM tools and techniques, including developing delivery plans and all related project documentation and products.
- Ability to manage the risks, issues, budget and quality of a wide range of projects by making key decisions that ensure effective delivery.
- Demonstration of evidence of empowering your team to deliver against project objectives, through effective leadership and delegation.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Experience of working with the security sector
- Evidence of implementing and managing formal performance management processes and procedures to support delivery of a national strategy.
- Specific experience and knowledge of working in an organisation that focuses on national security.
- Having a proven track record in delivering transformative projects would also be an advantage.
