**Job summary**:
The Homeland Security Group (HSG) unites capabilities and expertise to deliver better outcomes from the UK’s response to the most serious domestic threats - Terrorism, Cyber, State Threats and Economic Crime. The group will strengthen coordination and collective focus across a range of growing and overlapping threats, whilst remaining consistent with existing strategies. Working with partners, HSG will foster more transparent and sustainable collaboration between national security, law enforcement and other relevant communities to enhance capabilities and leverage our response to threats.
As part of the Home Office, the role of the Homeland Security Group is to:
- Support the Home Secretary to develop and implement strategies to keep our people and interests safe and secure.
- Build HMG capabilities to reduce national security risk.
- Reduce volume of, and harm from, economic crime, particularly for the most vulnerable.
- Work in partnership with public and private sectors in the UK and overseas to deliver better outcomes.
- Ensure legitimate economic growth and prosperity.
Based within the Homeland Security Group and organised under Prepare Protect CBRN and S&T (PPCS), the Joint Security and Resilience Centre or (JSaRC) is the interface between the UK Security Industry and the Government.
The Marketing and Communications team sits within JSaRC Strategy, which is one of the three pillars within JSaRC alongside International and Project Delivery. Strategy has responsibility for the Mobilise for Security Strategy ensuring JSaRC’s work in both the international and delivery teams is aligned with that strategy and leading on JSaRC’s role in delivering against the Skills and Procurement pillars of the strategy and reporting to the Ministerial chaired Security and Resilience Growth Partnership (SRGP).
**Job description**:
The Joint Security and Resilience Centre (JSaRC) is a flexible capability where HMG and the security sector work in partnership to promote a dynamic security skills base, drive cross-sectoral delivery of security solutions and facilitate the growth of the security sector.
JSaRC is a unique organisation of approximately 30 staff, representing a combination of civil servants and secondees from academia and industry, working on homeland security within the Home Office.
**Person specification**:
- Lead on JSaRC marketing and communications responsibilities for the delivery of the annual Security and Policing Exhibition and oversee JSaRC involvement and contribution to other key high-profile events such as (but not limited to) ISE (International Security Expo) IFSEC (International Fire and Security Exhibition & Conference).
- Oversee the provision of strategic communications support to JSaRC’s international team to promote and support their engagement overseas promoting UK Security Sector in line with UK prosperity objectives.
- Lead on the development and delivery of a range of strategic priorities and tactical initiatives as part of the overall marketing and growth plan.
- Lead on the coordination of marketing, communications across various channels to raise awareness and inform government, industry and academia of the broad opportunities that JSaRC offers.
- Plan, develop and continuously review a suite of regular, informative and engaging communications to audiences across government and the security sector.
- Manage the delivery and continued development of JSaRC CRM database, ensuring database resources are utilised in a professional and effective manner to support delivery of key aims and objectives.
- Work to identify cross-government requirements, promoting the uptake of security solutions into government and a variety of end users, seeking opportunities for JSaRC to take the lead in delivering relevant security projects
- Work to support the successful delivery of internal engagement events at JSaRC HQ and other locations.
- Management of JSaRC’s brand and identity; delivering continual development and ensuring standards and propriety of use are maintained.
- Oversee the management of JSaRC central mailbox as a key electronic doorway for industry and academic communications.
- Manage the day-to-day function of the marketing team and engagement with the wider JSaRC team, reporting at all levels.
