**The role**:
If successful, you will work as an Investigation Officer investigating locally committed non-volume crime and obtaining information regarding the activities of known criminals and persons suspected of crime.

The post holder will put victims and the public at the heart of all that they do and work with Communities, Partners & Stakeholders to build enablers (Influence & Interventions) that sustain reduced crime and therefore create safer and confident communities.

**What will I need ?**

You will have previous experience with report writing, will be a logical thinker and a natural problem solver who can listen attentively, sympathetically and with empathy towards the public particularly victims of crime, ASB and with vulnerable people.

This role involves agile working which will involve a mixture of office and remote work.

**Key experience, knowledge and skills required for the Investigation Officer role**:
**Essential**:

- Must have previous experience dealing with members of the public
- You will have a good standard of written and verbal communication skills

**Desirable**:

- A PIP 1 or PIP 2 (Professionalising Investigation Programme) suspect / witness trained qualification is highly desirable although not essential
- Will ideally have previously managed complex cases at court
- Experience or knowledge of working in serious and organised crime is highly advantageous
- Will ideally have previous policing or investigative experience

**Salary**:£32,394 - £34,326 per annum + excellent additional benefits

**Hours**:Monday - Friday 37 hours per week (may consider part time)

**Contract**: This role is offered on an agile working contract which is made up of a mix between office and remote working. This will be a 12-month Fixed term contract (FTC)

**Location**:Your contractual basewill be Bedfordshire Police HQ in Kempston although there may be the requirement to travel to Luton Police Station on occasions.
