**Position Overview**:
We are currently seeking a skilled and certified Appointed Person & Temporary Works Coordinator to join our team working around the South of England (within a 70-mile radius from Southampton). Our Head Office is based in Southampton. The Appointed Person will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating lifting operations on our construction sites, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and efficient execution of tasks. You will also be responsible for the temporary works, ensuring that a suitable temporary works design is prepared, checked and implemented on site in accordance with the relevant drawings and specification.
**Responsibilities**:
- Take the lead in planning and coordinating lifting operations on construction sites within a 70 mile radius from Southampton.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop method statements for lifting activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and lifting teams to develop detailed lift plans and schedules.
- Select appropriate lifting equipment and ensure that it is properly inspected, maintained, and operated by trained personnel.
- Provide clear instructions and guidance to lifting teams and crane operators, ensuring safe and efficient execution of lifting operations.
- Monitor lifting activities closely to identify and mitigate potential hazards or issues, taking prompt corrective action when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of lift plans, risk assessments, equipment inspections, and other relevant records.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of lifting equipment and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards.
- Coordinate the design, erection, inspection, use, monitoring, maintenance and dismantling of temporary works.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as an Appointed Person in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of lifting operations and associated regulations.
- Certification as an Appointed Person, such as the CPCS A61 Appointed Person qualification.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate lifting operations and communicate with stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using computer software for planning and documentation purposes.
- Temporary works coordinator experience
