**Salary**:Up to £27,500 per year (dependent on experience)

**Hours**: 37.5 hours/Mon-Fri - Permanent

**Location**: Hybrid working

**An organisation that helps others** This not-for-profit organisation is looking to recruit an experienced Debt Adviser to join the Operations department.

The Debt Adviser will support and assist people with handling their problem debt to improve their financial situation and wellbeing.

Offering support and advice in income maximisation, financial capability, energy comparison, welfare benefit and specialist debt advice to clients who come through to us from contracts we win to deliver this specialist area of work.

**What you will need to succeed**:
The successful Debt Adviser will have the ability:

- To be able to successfully manage own workload, administration, and diary commitments;
- To have an in-depth and up to date understanding of debt advice;
- To have knowledge of services provided by the NHS, social care, trust funds and/ or debt services;
- To have effective active listening techniques;
- To be able to understand and encourage others to contribute and debate ideas;
- To have adaptable people skills both in formal and informal situations;
- To have high level verbal, written and presentation skills;
- To have attention to detail;
- To be enthusiastic and resilient;
- To have the ability to monitor and maintain own performance targets;
- To have the ability to work under pressure and plan own caseload/service levels;
- To have experience of the DRO process as an approved intermediary;
- You will require an enhanced DBS check for this role.
