Clinical Fellow in Oncology

The post holder would be responsible for the assessment and treatment of oncology patients with a range of malignancies. They will undertake the following duties: Assist in the supervision of junior doctors on the ward to support the effective decision making to support high quality care and throughput of patients. Support the effective and timely review of patients in the Acute Admission area of the Division to ensure that patient flows are maintained to the base wards that discharge out of hospital can take place. Attendance at outpatient clinics assisting with patient follow up and on treatment clinics.

Clinics will be held at either Nottingham City Hospital or Kingsmill Hospital Mansfield. He/she will have the opportunity to select site specific clinics if desired. Provide support to Consultants and other members of the MDT in the recruitment of patients to agreed clinical trials. Teaching / Education The post holder would be invited to attend all specialist registrar training and educational meetings within the department.

They would be expected to contribute with training junior doctors and students on the ward. In addition we intend to offer funding and access to the Oncology PGCert/PGDip.
