Research Fellow in Pharmacoeconomics

Bangor University is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to its Centre for Health Economics and Medicines Evaluation (CHEME). Applications are invited from post-doctoral researchers with an existing track record of research, to join the Pharmaceutical Economics, Policy and Prescribing Research (PEPPER) group within CHEME.
Based on research outputs, the Research Excellence Framework indicated that we are rated 3rd out of 94 institutions, with 95% of outputs being world leading and internationally excellent.

Purpose of the Job
The post will be part of an established and expanding research group conducting economic evaluations alongside clinical trials and methodological research related to the evaluation of medicines
The post holder will be responsible for the planning, conduct and analysis of a variety of research projects undertaken within the PEPPER group and in conjunction with external partners, and the dissemination of the research outputs by publications and conference presentations.
The post holder will have specific responsibility for the economic evaluation alongside the HEAL-COVID clinical trial. The post holder will also be expected to lead on the development of opportunities to attract research funding and on co-ordinating and supervising project teams, and to contribute to the thriving research environment within CHEME.

**Responsibilities**:
- Conducting electronic literature searches according to systematic review / meta-analytic methodology.
- Identifying service utilisation and cost data, including from national routine data collections such as via NHS Digital.
- Data analysis and interpretation.
- Liaising with other researchers working on projects.
- Preparation of interim and final project reports.
- Lead on, and contribute to papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals. - Presentation of papers at relevant conferences.
- Attending Trial Management Group meetings, as required.
- Provide training and mentorship for other researchers within the CHEME research centre.
- Lead on the organisation and supervision of project teams.
- Attend meetings within the University or externally on behalf of and to represent CHEME when required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Attend internal meetings and to undertake administrative responsibilities that improve the work undertaken by the Centre for Health Economics and Medicines Evaluation.

Person Specification
Qualifications/Training
Essential
PhD (or MSc and applicable research experience) in health economics, or a discipline requiring a sound background in quantitative research methods.
An established research reputation in the discipline.
Experience/Knowledge
Essential
Significant work experience demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of conducting economic evaluations.
Experience of using statistical analysis software such as Stata and/or R.
Publications in peer reviewed journals and at conference.
Experience of organising and supervising a project team.
Skills/Abilities
Essential
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills, and with attention to detail.
Demonstrate advanced analytical skills, ability to analyse numerical data and present results appropriately.
Demonstrate the ability to prioritise work load and work to often tight deadlines.
