Research Project Support Officer

Applications are invited for the above temporary full-time post working in the laboratory of Dr Chris Staples, within the North West Cancer Research Centre in the North Wales Medical School. Research in the Staples laboratory is centred around DNA repair and the replication stress response, and is currently supported by UKRI,North West Cancer Research and Cancer Research Wales.
This role will be located on campus at Bangor.

North Wales Medical School
The North Wales Medical School is the prime focus for medical research at Bangor University. The School offers a career-spanning portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate degrees and short courses for healthcare and allied professionals. Cancer Research is a core research area within the School, and the successful applicant will work within UKRI Future Leader Fellow Dr Chris Staples’ laboratory, which is housed in the North West Cancer Research Institute.
The Project
The successful applicant will assist with laboratory management and maintenance, and following training assist with basic cell biology experiments in support of ongoing and novel projects.
Purpose of the Job
The post is part of an established team working on novel aspects of the cellular responses to DNA damage and replication stress. The post-holder will be involved in providing general technical support for the research conducted by the team. This will include assisting the research team in meeting their anticipated outcomes within the agreed timescales of the project.
