DoLS Coordinator
Bromley
Contract
£21 per hour PAYE
Our client is looking for an experienced DoLS Coordinator.
To coordinate the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards process for each service-user, including maintaining an
effective overview. To be the first point of contact, receive and screen incoming referrals according to
operational procedures and ensure they are processed in a timely manner. To provide advice and guidance
to partner agencies and Adult Social Care colleagues with respect to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards,
seeking support from Best Interests Assessors / Supervisor as appropriate. To provide initial screening and
quality assurance of reports submitted by Best Interests Assessors and Section 12 Approved Doctors.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to effectively prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to recognise service priorities and meet performance targets and deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively via telephone and in writing
- A high level of relational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use initiative and work independently
- Ability to work as part of a team and understand the work boundaries of the role
- Ability to recognise when to seek support and guidance from others
- IT skills and ability to use Social Care information management systems
- Demonstrate a positive attitude to work and evidence of proactive working to achieve the
aims and targets of the team.
KNOWLEDGE
- Basic knowledge of relevant legislation such as Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005,
Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended 2007)
- Basic knowledge of Legislations relating to Data Protection and Information Sharing such
as Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulations
