**Prisons Activities Officer**

**Salary - £23,186 - £25,290 pro rata**

**Hours: Variable**

**Fixed Term till 31st March 2027**

Age UK North Tyneside have been working in prisons for over 5 years to support older prisoners and to improve the range of services and support available to them.

We now have an exciting opportunity to further develop the support we provide to older people in prisons across the North East.

**PURPOSE**

The officer will cover prisons in either Teesside or Durham. The Officer will deliver 3 activity/social sessions per week in each prison in their area which will include preparation and liaison work within the prisons with internal and external organisations.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Experience of developing and delivering groups and activities
- Experience of developing new initiatives/projects
- A demonstrable understanding of the Criminal Justice sector
- Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders across the public, private and voluntary sectors
- Community development experience working with targeted community groups.
- Flexibility to provide cover in other areas across the region if needed and some early evening work if required.
- A full current driving licence and access to a car
