Curo, a leading Housing Association based in Bath, is seeking a compassionate individual to take on the role of Sheltered Housing Officer to join the Older Persons sheltered team, which forms part of the care and support element within Curo.

The role will be predominantly based out of Stirling Way, Keynsham.

**What you'll be doing**

As our Sheltered Housing Officer, you’ll have your own portfolio of customers who live within Sheltered accommodation, you will build effective relationships and work with them to understand what it is they need to remain living independently in a safe environment. The types of support tasks include:

- Helping with shopping
- Assisting with medical appointments or social activities,
- Reviewing financial accounts,
- arranging aids and adaptations for their property
- preventing loneliness.

You will also complete several essential housing management tasks to ensure properties and the surrounding environment are safe, this includes:

- fire alarm and panel testing,
- telecare alarm testing,
- health and Safety checks and water flushing.

Our Sheltered Housing Officer will ideally have most of the skills and background listed below:

- We are looking for people who can demonstrate great communication skills and a passion to support people - full training will be supplied on all technical aspects of the role.
- Resilience is a key skill and the desire to work in an interesting environment where no day is ever the same
- Although you will be focused on the Keynsham area you may need to occasionally travel throughout BANES to cover holidays and absences, so a **driving license with business insurance, and access to transport is essential**.
- We will need to take up an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check for this role which we will do for you when you start.
- You will be able to work flexibly, based on our customers’ needs.
