Regional Business Development Manager

We are currently seeking a **Regional Business Development Manager** to join a well-established family-run SME based in Linton, Kent. Your role will be to support the objectives of the Sales Department through specialised and in-depth knowledgeof Company’s products and related services; providing technical and product specific expertise to customers and the sales team. You will visit clients and demonstrate and promote products and facilitate either the closing of a sales agreement, or the maintenanceand growth of existing sales
**Key duties and responsibilities....**
- Work proactively and cooperatively with the sales’ teams, to grow existing customers, create new customers, while increasing customer satisfaction
- Assess customer needs, explain and demonstrate products to them, provide technical description of products, as well as describing the purposes for which they are used.
- Provide professional advice and specialist knowledge of Company products and services, including onsite training / education sessions
- Determine customer requirements and expectations
- Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner
- Recommend products based on technical and operational suitability, cost, availability or specifications
- Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
- Ensure customers achieve the best buying experience possible through communicating effectively and efficiently with customers
- Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items
- Setup and maintain customer files and data in the CRM system
- Track, measure and evaluate sales metrics and trends
- Travel to meet company executives, owners and purchasers, and represent Company at trade shows and exhibitions
- Remain current on consumer preferences and product developments
- Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction
- Continuously improve through feedback
- Other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by senior management
**Requirements**:
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer’s site
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
- Minimum three year’s progressive sales experience in the construction industry, or a comparable business-to-business products and services related enterprise
- Proven experience achieving or exceeding targets
- Recognized certification in sales or customer service, or a combination of education and work experience
- Demonstrable experience in negotiating and closing sales agreements
- Proven experience and success in telephone and in-person sales
- Proven ability to deal with challenging customers; able to cope with and manage rejections
- Background and proven work experience in a construction environment for a major regional or national organisation desirable
- Competent in the use of ERP/CRM systems and standard Microsoft Office software
- Evidence of 3-5 years successful proactive sales experience
- Industry or trade experience would be advantageous
- Proven successful track record quickly building a rapport with customers
- Proven ability to understand technical components as well explaining them when required.
- Proven successful experience developing sales pipeline to create solid profitable relationships from prospects and turn them into key clients
- Proven strong upselling, cross selling and closing skills
Hours: 7:30 - 4:30 (Mon - Fri)
