A rapidly expanding successful group that encompasses all aspects of the meat trade is recruiting a Packing Supervisor for our site in Irlam, Manchester.

Our business - which is a catering butcher - has over 100 years' experience in the meat and farming industries. All products are prepared in the factory daily each customer's specifications, packaged and labelled to and above legislation and then delivereddirect throughout the UK.

The main purpose of this role is to support the smooth and effective running of the packing department, and this is a very hands-on role.

Responsibilities include:

- Ensuring all finished product and work in progress is correctly labelled for traceability
- Completion of packing records
- Ensuring good housekeeping of packing and seasoning areas
- Responsible for driving the team, anticipating and finding solutions to unforeseen obstacles and changes with minimum disruption to productivity
- Liaison with HR regarding any timekeeping, absence, or staff issues, ensuring compliance with company policies in the packing managers absence

**Additional Information** Working:

- Sunday 08.00-19.00, Monday, Thursday, Friday 08:00-19.00
- However, the role also will require some flexibility in the working hours to meet the needs of the business.

**Essential Skills** No formal qualifications are required for this Packing Supervisor role and full training will be provided; however, it would be advantageous if you have supervisory experience in a production or packing and fast paced environment and significant experiencesupervising or managing staff.
- You will have good communication skills and an ability to develop good working relationships with managers in other areas of the business and deliver the common goals of the business in terms of profitability and provision of agreed service levels to customers.
- You will demonstrate a willingness to embrace change and develop people within your team.
- You should have the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Additionally, the Packing Supervisor will be required to support and deputise with the organising and planning of the packing department, ensuring all orders are produced to the correct specification.

**Desirable Skills**:

- Experience of managing a packing operation would be advantageous but not essential.
- You should have good numeracy and literacy and be able to work individually and as part of a team in a very busy environment.
