Job summary

Are you an Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in Learning Disabilities? A rare opportunity has arisen for a Team Lead Occupational Therapist to work within our welcoming and friendly Adult Learning Disabilities Team in Salford

You will take a clinical lead role in supporting people with Learning Disabilities to experience improved health, well-being, life skills, and integration into their community, actively contributing to the development and delivery of the MDT response to the current and emerging needs of people with Learning Disabilities in Salford.

You will be expected to manage a caseload providing advanced assessment and treatment and provide leadership and supervision to junior staff and students. You will be supported to do this by a combination of access to our award winning leadership programmes, direct supervision, appraisal and peer support.

We welcome applicants who are experienced at band 6 looking to progress your career in a training capacity towards a band 7 role, or an existing band 7 wanting to specialise in this dynamic clinical area where evidence-based practice and joint working are embedded, and service development and CPD are encouraged. Main duties of the job

Provide clinical leadership within the Health Professional Team and support other team members as appropriate.

Independently manage a significant clinical workload and be an expert in the holistic assessment of the needs of people with learning disabilities.

Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence based treatment programmes.

Monitor and improve standards of support by contributing to the review and redevelopment of service plans, efficient use of resources, clinical audit, and research.

Work as part of the integrated multi-disciplinary team across health and social care to ensure high quality support and positive outcomes.

Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your work, including maintaining patient and own records

Liaise and communicate with the person, family/carers, multi-disciplinary team, social services and external agencies.
